The Ambassador of the United Republic of Tanzania to France, H.E. Saidi Othman Yakubu, has called upon Tanzanians living in France to continue serving as ambassadors of development by supporting the Government’s efforts to promote Tanzania’s tourist attractions and attract investment from France and the wider European region.
Speaking during the “Tanzanian Night” event organized by the Association of Tanzanians Living in France (CCWU) and held at the Residence of the Tanzanian Ambassador in Paris, Ambassador Yakubu emphasized that the diaspora plays a vital role in enhancing Tanzania’s international image through culture, trade, investment, and tourism.
Ambassador Yakubu noted that the Government, under the leadership of President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, continues to place strong emphasis on economic diplomacy and encouraged members of the diaspora to utilize their networks, professional expertise, and experience to promote the numerous opportunities available in Tanzania.
The event was attended by Tanzanians from various parts of France, as well as guests from different countries who came to learn about Tanzania’s history, culture, and heritage. Among the activities that attracted participants were presentations on the heritage and global development of the Kiswahili language, exhibitions of traditional Tanzanian attire including khangas and vitenge, as well as displays and sales of various Tanzanian products.

Participants also had the opportunity to witness cultural performances showcasing the diversity of Tanzania’s ethnic groups and traditions, which contributed to enhancing visitors’ understanding of the richness of the country’s cultural heritage.
In addition, the event featured a variety of Tanzanian dishes prepared with exceptional skill, including pilau rice, banana and meat stew, beans, leafy vegetables, and other traditional delicacies, all of which were warmly received by the guests in attendance.
In his closing remarks, Ambassador Yakubu commended CCWU for its continued efforts to bring together Tanzanians living in France and for using the platform to promote Tanzania’s identity. He also stressed the importance of maintaining unity and cooperation in promoting the country and contributing to its development.
The “Tanzanian Night” event has continued to serve as an important platform for strengthening unity among the Tanzanian diaspora in France while promoting Tanzanian culture to the international community.
