Russia and South Africa sign a memorandum to expand their bilateral cooperation in the field of standardization, for the development and implementation of technical standards that ensure the compatibility, quality, safety and efficiency of products, services and systems.
The document was signed by the Director of the Russian Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology, Anton Shalaev, and the Acting Director General of the South African Bureau of Standardization, Lungelo Ntobongwana, in South Africa.
“The aim of the document is to establish a mechanism for cooperation in the field of standardization, technical documentation and other areas of mutual interest,” according to the Russian cabinet, quoted by Sputnik.
With the signing of this agreement, the two countries hope to facilitate economic and technological cooperation.
The meeting’s agenda also included consideration of cooperation between the two countries in the BRICS format.
