The Goverment is poised to launch a centralized information system designed to collect, coordinate, and analyze all education-related data, representing a significant transformation in the management and accessibility of educational statistics throughout the country.
This innovative system, led by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, aims to streamline access to essential information across all levels of education. It will encompass data from both public and private educational institutions, including schools and universities, which has traditionally been fragmented or difficult to obtain. By consolidating this information, the system is expected to provide a more comprehensive view of the educational landscape in Tanzania.
During a technology symposium co-hosted by the Higher Education Students’ Loans Board (HESLB) and AdAPT IT, Minister for Education Prof. Adolf Mkenda announced that the development of the centralized system is nearing completion. He emphasized the importance of this initiative in enhancing data-driven decision-making within the education sector.

The symposium brought together a diverse group of participants, including innovators, ICT experts, policymakers, and representatives from higher learning institutions. The event focused on the theme “Digitally Connecting Institutions by Driving Transformation in Higher Education,” highlighting the critical role of technology in modernizing educational frameworks and improving access to information.
With this new centralized system, government aims not only to enhance the efficiency of data collection and analysis but also to foster greater transparency and accountability within the education sector. This initiative is expected to empower educators, administrators, and policymakers with the insights needed to make informed decisions that will ultimately benefit students and improve educational outcomes across the nation.
