 Resident of Kasulu, Kigoma,  Clemensia Cosmas , a 19-year-old stands accused of a brutal attack on her employer’s six-year-old child in Dar es Salaam.

The event unfolded in the Goba area, where Clemensia was employed as a domestic worker. In a shocking turn of events, she allegedly slit the throat of Malik Hashim, the child of her employer, before fleeing the scene. Eyewitnesses recount the harrowing moments following the attack.

A neighbor, whose identity remains undisclosed, described finding the young boy covered in blood, desperately in need of assistance. “It was a scene of unimaginable horror,” the witness said, their voice shaking with emotion. “I saw the child lying there, blood pouring from his neck, and I knew immediate help was needed.” Emergency services were promptly called, and Malik was rushed to a nearby hospital.

The hashtag #JusticeForMalik is trending, as people demand swift justice for the young victim. Law enforcement agencies have launched an intense manhunt for Clemensia Cosmas, who remains at large. Authorities are appealing to the public for any information that could lead to her arrest, emphasizing the need for vigilance and cooperation. In a statement, Dar es Salaam’s police spokesperson urged calm and patience as they pursue all leads.

“We understand the public’s anger and fear. Our officers are working around the clock to ensure Clemensia is apprehended and brought to justice,” the spokesperson assured.

This incident has also ignited discussions about the safety and treatment of domestic workers, with calls for stricter regulations and oversight. Advocacy groups are urging the government to implement better protections for both domestic workers and the families that employ them.
