Dr. Wilbroad Slaa, a prominent Tanzanian political figure, was arrested in the early hours of January 10, 2024, by the Dar es Salaam Special Zone Police Force.
The arrest has been confirmed by SACP Muliro Jumanne, the Regional Police Commander for Dar es Salaam.
Speaking during an interview on Wasafi FM’s Good Morning program, Commander Muliro stated, “Dr. Slaa is with us, and we have been conducting interviews with him regarding certain matters. Our discussions are progressing well.”

Commander Muliro further explained that the police are closely following legal procedures to determine the next course of action, emphasizing that more details will be provided as the situation develops.
“We are reviewing the legal framework to guide our actions, and further information will be released later,” Muliro added.
As of now, the reasons behind Dr. Slaa’s arrest remain undisclosed, with the authorities maintaining a cautious approach while investigations are ongoing.
