Tanzania’s Minister of Health, Ummy Mwalimu, officially delivered a special message from President Samia Suluhu Hassan to Ethiopian President Sahle-Work Zewde. The message emphasized the enduring cooperation and strong ties between the two nations, established by their founding leaders.

During the meeting, President Sahle-Work expressed her gratitude for Tanzania’s continuous collaboration across various sectors. She acknowledged the historical ties and the mutual benefits that both countries have enjoyed over the years. The discussions highlighted several key areas of cooperation, including health, education, and infrastructure development.

One of the focal points of the discussion was the ongoing efforts to enhance healthcare systems in both countries. Ummy  shared insights on Tanzania’s recent advancements in healthcare, including the implementation of the Universal Health Insurance law, signed by President Samia in December 2023. This law aims to provide comprehensive healthcare coverage to all Tanzanians, ensuring no citizen is left without access to essential medical services

By working together, Tanzania and Ethiopia aim to accelerate their development agendas and improve the living standards of their people.
