The surge in demand for these products has prompted beauty brands to expand their offerings, introducing a wide range of options to cater  for different body shapes and preferences. From padded undergarments to topical creams promising to boost volume and firmness, the market is flooded with options for women seeking to enhance their curves.

Gluteoplasty, also called gluteal augmentation, is a surgical procedure performed to improve the shape and the size of the buttocks.

‘’I have been selling hips and butt creams for years now and constantly running out of stock due to high demands. My clients are both young ladies and women in their 50s. Those who want rapid results that becomes evident in a matter of two-three weeks, combine both the cream and the butt pills. .This has become a very lucrative business venture for me as compared to second –hand clothing’s  I used to sell. I make between 3-5 million a day as I receive orders from Tanzania and clients from other African countries.

Asked if she uses any of the hip-butt enhancing panties, pills or cream, Ramatu , disclosed that she is naturally endowed but whenever she feels  she is losing weight , she wears some hips and butt panties to cover –up.  As for the pills , I’m scared of future complications as I hear everything  has it negative side effect. The creams are relatively slow and requires lots of patience which is why I just wear the panties, its easy to use and affordable.”

Lucy Kazimoto, trades in “hip and butt enhancer panties” , she reveals how the panties have become hot cakes among young women, particularly High School students, who wear them to attract their male counterparts and men  in general. This  is not  surprising because one  of the most  attractive features men  look out for on  a female figure is the buttocks. Women with enough “backside” are mostly attracted to  men than those who lack it. Lucy brags.

In a surprising turn of events this Valentine’s Day, a frenzy for hip and buttocks pads has taken over as celebrants gear up to impress their loved ones with enhanced curves and confidence. The demand for these body-shaping accessories has skyrocketed, leading to a rush at stores across the city of Dar Es Salaam , Dodoma and Arusha.

Retailers specializing in beauty and fashion products have reported a significant increase in sales of hip and buttocks pads in the days leading up to Valentine’s Day. Customers of all ages  have been seen flocking to these stores, eager to enhance their figures for romantic dates and special occasions.

One customer, Sarah, shared her excitement about trying out hip pads for the first time. “I wanted to look my best for my Valentine’s Day dinner, and these pads give me the extra boost of confidence I need,” she expressed.

According to a vox pop interview Media Wire Express conducted, 10 out of every 15 men in the Dodoma and Dar Es Salaam regions respectively ,affirmed their affection for women  with enough “backside” be it fake or real.

Similarly, 5 out of every 20 women interviewed consented that they put on the enhancers purposely to attract the opposite sex. A good number of the women interviewed were reluctant to give any response. A few minority however, citing body confidence boosting and self-worth as key reasons for wearing hipsters.

These findings invariably point to the fact that the wearing of these enhancers may have some dire consequences on marriages which are founded on physical attraction. The following question therefore comes to mind: what will be the  outcome  of  a  marriage or  relationship  in  which the  man’s  motivation  and  reason  for  marrying  his spouse is  based on  the fact  she is  naturally endowed  at the  back? Only  to discover  some few days into the marriage that all the perceived curviness and fullness at the back is nothing more than foam pads stuffed into panties to deceive the eye.

Pastor  Gregory  who  doubles as a Marriage Counselor at the TAG Kinondoni Revival Church ,is of the opinion that this deceptive way of  dressing by  the female  fraternity, must  be stopped  because it  has the propensity of aggravating the situation .

“When God created Adam and Eve, he made sure he gave the woman the best features that would attract any man but women of  these days  have decided to play with  the natural  endowments God  gave them,  if they do not tamper with their breasts by getting implants, they are inflating their buttocks or bleaching their skin to become what they are not. Some even go to the extent of injecting cement into their body in order to enlarge their breasts and buttocks, all these are so dangerous and must be stopped, the world we live in today is getting scarier everyday considering how far people will go just to get attention. .This is sad , he said.
