Commissioner of Census and Former Speaker of the Parliament of Hon. Anne Semamba Makinda, has urged citizens from grassroots levels to utilize accurate statistics derived from the conducted Census in various development activities.
Hon. Makinda made this call while visiting the Ministry of Finance Booth at the 48th International Trade Fair (Sabasaba) held at Julius Nyerere Trade Fair Grounds, Kilwa Road, Temeke, in Dar es Salaam. She emphasized the importance of using accurate statistics for development purposes.
She noted that the Census-derived statistics contain comprehensive data that should be fully utilized in development planning and by researchers, including those from various universities, to address societal challenges.
Hon. Makinda encouraged citizens to visit the Ministry of Finance Booth to receive comprehensive education about the Census and statistics, as the Statistics Office is currently engaged in public education regarding the results of the conducted Census.
