The Chief Climate Change Advisor from the European Union, Apollonia Miola, praised Tanzania for its efforts in combating climate change and the hospitality of its citizens.
Miola’s commendation came during the 24th Forum and 35th Meeting of the Standing Committee on Finance of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), held in Arusha.
The event was graced by the Vice President of Tanzania, Dr. Philip Mpango. The theme of the forum was “Accelerating Climate Change Action Through Gender-Inclusive Funding.”
Miola acknowledged Tanzania’s proactive measures and significant strides in addressing climate change, noting the country’s commitment to sustainable practices and its engagement with international climate policies. She highlighted the nation’s progress in integrating climate change mitigation into its development strategies and praised the Tanzanian government’s efforts to create a more resilient and adaptable society.
