The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. Carolyne Nombo, has stated that Tanzania is prepared to fully utilize technology in enhancing the quality of education and ensuring it aligns with the demands of the global job market and the broader needs of the nation.
Prof. Nombo made the remarks while officially opening an Education, Skills, and Innovation Conference in Tanga, which focused on various education-related issues, including the application of technology in various fields and effective strategies for aligning education systems with current requirements.
“We have a unique opportunity to participate in these important discussions on matters related to our education system, skills development, and the integration of science, technology, and innovation,” explained Nombo.
Similarly, the Executive Secretary of the National Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (NACTVET), Dr. Adolf Rutayuga, expressed delight in bringing together various stakeholders, including representatives from TVET institutions, higher education institutions, the private sector, development partners, and other key players in the education sector.
The conference aimed to provide a platform for comprehensive discussions on leveraging technology to enhance the quality of education and ensure it meets the evolving needs of the job market and the country’s overall development agenda.
