President Samia Suluhu Hassan, has laid the foundation stone for the construction of the National Agricultural Laboratory, a project funded by the African Development Bank, which is currently in its final stages.
This building, which will house 14 laboratories, will serve as the referral laboratory for all agricultural research centers across the country and will also become the headquarters of the Tanzania Agricultural Research Institute (TARI), eliminating the need to use regional centers.

“After starting the construction of this building, we will engage with our colleagues responsible for the government city. There are two adjacent plots with about 60,000 square meters that we have already requested to expand this area,” explained Minister Bashe.
Furthermore, Hon. Bashe mentioned that the completion of this project will aid in the production of seedlings and technology development, with the implementation beginning with the construction of the Bio-Science Laboratory this year and the establishment of Horticulture Centers in the Arusha region, which will include a large Tissue Culture Laboratory.
