Guardiola says at the end of last season he still considered Ederson his first-choice goalkeeper, although he chose Stefan Ortega for the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid.
Speaking after his team lost 4-3 to Celtic in a friendly match in North Carolina, Guardiola said: “I would like him to stay but it depends on other clubs.
“I don’t know the situation. No one has contacted us about him in recent days. It’s a matter of training, being with us until the transfer window closes and we’ll see.”
Ederson came on at halftime as City lost to Celtic in Chapel Hill, the opening match for the Premier League champions before the new season.
