The Ministry of Health has planned to implement 10 priorities using 86 interventions estimated to cost a total of TZS 1,311,837,466,000 in the upcoming fiscal year 2024/25.
This budget will cover regular expenditures, income, and various development projects for that year.
The Minister of Health, Hon. Ummy Mwalimu, disclosed today in parliament,when he unveiled the budget estimates for the Ministry for the 2024/25 fiscal year during the 12th session of the 15th Parliament in Dodoma.

Among the priorities outlined is the reinforcement of disease prevention services, with a budget allocation of TZS 117,611,588,304.
Other key focuses include enhancing healthcare quality across all levels, with a budget of TZS 219,010,767,716. Maternal and child health services are also prioritized, with TZS 17,189,250,000 allocated.
Moreover, efforts are directed towards boosting the presence of specialized healthcare professionals, with TZS 74,000,000,000 designated for this purpose. Specialized medical treatment services are set to improve with a budget of TZS 89,858,609,000.
Additionally, resources are allocated to develop traditional and alternative medicine interventions (TZS 1,500,000,000) and strengthen the management of various health conditions and emergency services (TZS 84,864,241,569). Mental health services are also slated for enhancement, with an allocation of TZS 5,618,528,988.
The Ministry of Health is focusing on enhancing rehabilitative and referral services for vulnerable groups like children, the elderly, and individuals with disabilities, with a budget allocation of TZS 3,700,000,000.
