Protests against the government have sparked clashes in Bangladesh between police and university students.
Approximately 150 people have been killed – some caught in the bloodshed.
One student said protesters in the capital Dhaka simply wanted to hold a peaceful gathering, but police “spoiled” it by attacking them as they assembled.

A student leader, now recovering in hospital, described being blinded and tortured by individuals claiming to be police.
Meanwhile, an emergency department doctor said they were overwhelmed with dozens of young people with gunshot wounds brought in during the height of the clashes.
Security forces are accused of using excessive force, but the government blames political opponents for the unrest, which erupted after a government job allocation. Much of this has now been dismissed by a High Court order.
Nationwide internet shutdown since Thursday has restricted the flow of information, with a curfew enforced and thousands of troops deployed.
Limited connectivity was restored Tuesday night, prioritizing companies like banks, technology firms, and media.
These riots pose the biggest challenge in years for Sheikh Hasina, 76, who began her fourth consecutive term as prime minister in January following a controversial election boycotted by major opposition parties in the country.
