The Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) party leadership in Zanzibar has strongly condemned the divisive political tactics being employed by opposition parties, urging CCM members to remain steadfast and united in the face of such tactics.
Speaking to a gathering of CCM ward, branch, constituency, district, and regional committee members in the North Unguja region, CCM Vice Chairman Dr. Hussein Mwinyi, who also serves as the President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, warned that the party will not tolerate any attempts to undermine the peace and stability of the country.
“Divisiveness and the promotion of hatred and political unrest are unacceptable,” Dr. Mwinyi said. “The government’s primary focus is on development and improving the lives of our citizens, and we will not be distracted by the dirty politics of the opposition.”
Dr. Mwinyi emphasized that the Zanzibar government, under the leadership of CCM, has introduced innovative initiatives aimed at addressing the concerns of the people. He assured the audience that the government is committed to fulfilling its financial obligations, including the prompt payment of compensation to residents whose land has been acquired for the Mangapwani port development project, to the tune of 12 billion Tanzanian shillings.

“Our government is dedicated to delivering tangible development projects and improving the lives of our citizens,” Dr. Mwinyi said. “We will not be deterred by the divisive tactics of the opposition, and we call upon all CCM members to remain united and focused on the party’s mission of driving Tanzania’s progress.”
The CCM leadership’s strong stance against the opposition’s divisive politics underscores the party’s commitment to maintaining the country’s stability and pursuing a development-oriented agenda that prioritizes the well-being of all Tanzanians.
