The National Council of the Youth Wing of the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (UVCCM) has strongly condemned individuals, political parties, civil society organizations, both local and international, and global bodies for misusing Tanzanian youth to undermine peace, unity, and solidarity in the country.
The council declared that such actions will not be tolerated by the UVCCM. Speaking in Dodoma today, September 17, 2024, during the announcement of resolutions passed at the regular session of the UVCCM National Council, Chairman Mohamedi Kawaida stated that the UVCCM stands united in condemning those who seek to destabilize the nation’s harmony.
“With one voice, we vehemently condemn individuals, political parties, civil society organizations, and international bodies that are misusing Tanzanian youth to attempt to damage and belittle the peace, unity, and solidarity of our nation. The Youth Wing of the Chama Cha Mapinduzi will not tolerate such acts,” Kawaida declared.
In addition to addressing the misuse of youth, Kawaida called on all young Tanzanians to actively participate in the upcoming local government elections by registering to vote, running for office, and casting their ballots. He emphasized that UVCCM is ready to support the youth in this civic engagement.
“The National Council of the Youth Wing urges all youth to turn out in large numbers during the local government election process by registering in the residential roll, contesting for leadership positions, and voting. UVCCM will fully support their efforts,” he said.
The UVCCM also praised the governments of both the United Republic of Tanzania and the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar for their dedication to serving the people. The Council expressed its appreciation for the ongoing implementation of the CCM’s 2020–2025 Election Manifesto under the leadership of President Samia Suluhu Hassan and Zanzibar’s President Hussein Ali Mwinyi.
