Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) in Mufindi District, Iringa, has raised TSh 1,553,500 to help with the medical expenses of Sigrada Mligo,
the Women’s Wing Secretary of the Democratic Party of Progress (CHADEMA) in Njombe. The funds will be used for her treatment at Peramiho Hospital.
The announcement was made by CPA Amos Makalla, CCM’s National Executive Committee Secretary for Ideology, Publicity, and Training, during a visit to Mufindi as part of his three-day tour in Mbeya and Iringa. Speaking to locals at Mashujaa Grounds, Makalla expressed his concern for Sigrada’s health and encouraged the community to support her treatment.
Makalla shared that he had previously called Sigrada to offer his condolences and advised her party in Njombe to visit and send her their well wishes. He revealed that Sigrada had been facing serious health challenges and needed immediate treatment at Peramiho Hospital.
“She needs our help. As members of CCM, we must support one another, regardless of party affiliation,” Makalla said. “I encourage everyone here to contribute so Sigrada can continue her treatment and get back to full health.”

The fundraising effort saw significant contributions. Salim Abri, a member of CCM’s National Executive Committee from Iringa, donated TSh 1 million. The rest of the funds, TSh 553,500, were gathered from local party members in Mufindi District.
Makalla also mentioned that Sigrada would be undergoing quarantine for her treatment and stressed that her recovery required ongoing support. “I’ve done my part, but we must keep helping her until she’s well again,” he added.
This display of solidarity from CCM members reflects a commitment to supporting each other, regardless of political differences, especially in times of need. The community’s response to Sigrada’s situation shows the power of collective action when someone is in need of help.
