The Police Force has arrested and interrogated two suspects for damaging two windows of a Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) train by throwing stones.
A statement issued by the Police Force spokesperson, DCP David A. Misime, explains that the incident occurred on November 22, 2024, in the afternoon in Manase village, Chamwino district, Dodoma city, as the high-speed train was passing from Dar es Salaam to Dodoma.

Following the incident, the Police Force conducted a manhunt and successfully apprehended Erasto Michael Richard (16) and Hassan Ezekiel Ndahani (12), both residents of Manase village, Chamwino district.
The report indicates that the suspects committed the damage after seeing the train pass by and throwing stones together to test if the stones could match the train’s speed.
The Police Force has called on residents living near areas where the modern train operates to educate one another on the importance of protecting the railway infrastructure.
