Vice President Dr. Philip Mpango has urged residents of Kigoma to register in large numbers during the voter register update to participate fully in selecting capable leaders.
He made the call during his tour of Uvinza District, emphasizing active participation in drafting the National Vision 2050. Dr. Mpango highlighted the importance of prioritizing education for children to foster national development, stressing the need for educated citizens to ensure competent leadership and workforce.
Additionally, he instructed Kigoma’s leadership to facilitate citizen involvement in the modern railway project (SGR) in Uvinza, pending the issuance of national identity cards. Furthermore, he directed district leaders to oversee the restoration of natural vegetation in Uvinza, including tree planting, to meet environmental goals.
