The Minister of State in the Office of the President, Planning and Investment, Mhe. Prof. Kitila Mkumbo, has invited businessmen and investors from Russia to invest in Tanzania, highlighting various attractions, including the significant political stability that has been witnessed in the country for many years.
Minister Kitila spoke at a special forum organized by both parties in Dar es Salaam on Tuesday, October 29, 2024.
The forum aimed to discuss economic cooperation and identify new investment and business opportunities for Tanzanian citizens and those from Russia.

In his speech, Minister Kitila Mkumbo informed the forum participants that Tanzania’s dream is to become a major food producer in Africa.
He emphasized the importance of Russian citizens seizing this opportunity, citing the government’s sixth-phase momentum and the vast land available in the country as key factors that can enhance food production.
He also mentioned the potential for adding value to various agricultural products.
The forum also involved high-ranking officials from the Russian government and was attended by Mhe. Maxim Reshetnikov, the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.
Participants discussed various economic issues and strategies to strengthen cooperation between the two countries, while also opening opportunities for long-term investments in Tanzania
