The Minister of Natural Resources and Tourism, Hon. Ambassador Dr. Pindi Chana, has called upon Tanzanians to honor the nation’s heroes by upholding the values of humanity, peace, and dignity that they fought to protect, making the world a safer place to live.
She made this statement today as the guest of honor at the Remembrance Day for Heroes of the First World War, held in Dar es Salaam on November 10, 2024.
“On this Remembrance Day, we not only commemorate their lives but also renew our commitment to uphold the principles they stood for—a world of peace, humanity, and dignity,” emphasized Hon. Chana.
She explained that, in remembering these heroes, communities are encouraged to safeguard the peace they bravely fought for and to carry forward their legacy by building bridges of understanding and cooperation across borders. She stressed that despite the global peace challenges, Tanzania has firmly believed that lasting conflict solutions are not achieved through gunfire but through diplomacy, dialogue, and understanding.
