The Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde, stepped down on Tuesday, leading to the dissolution of his government, as announced by the presidency in a statement.
Following the validation of his mandate as a national deputy eight days prior, the prime minister submitted his resignation to President Felix Tshisekedi. He will now transition to parliament as a member of the assembly.
While accepting the resignation, the presidency stated that President Tshisekedi has instructed Lukonde’s government to continue managing current affairs until a new government is established, as mentioned in a subsequent statement released later on Tuesday.
