A total of 484,823 students who sat for their Certificate of Secondary Education Examinations (CSEE) in 2023 have passed.
Announcing the results in Dar es Salaam today (January 25, 2024), the National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA) Executive Secretary, Dr. Said Ally Mohammed, said the performance has increased by 0.87 percent compared to the previous year.
Disaggregating the figures, Dr. Salim stated that 257,892 girls (86.17 percent) and 226,931 boys (89.40 percent) performed well in their respective exams.
He added that a total of 13,396 private candidates, equivalent to 52.44 percent, passed their exams.
NECTA’s secretary further added that the number of private candidates who have passed in their latest exams dropped by 15.90 percent compared to 2022, where the number of passing candidates was 19,475.
A total of 543,386 Form Four students sat for their final exams from November 13th to 30th last year.
