The Party for Democracy and Progress ,Chama cha Demokrasia na Maendeleo, commonly known as Chadema,are currently demonstrating on the streets of Mbeya,calling for various reforms to be implemented by the government.
Key demands included the establishment of an independent electoral commission, lowering food prices, drafting a new constitution, and enhancing inclusivity in governance.
The protesters, consisting of both citizens and party members, united their voices to push for these critical changes. Banners and placards carried during the demonstration highlighted concerns over issues like frequent power outages, water shortages, and the need for rural development.
The demonstrators expressed their determination to continue advocating for these reforms until they see tangible progress from the government. The peaceful protest aims at to drawing attention to the pressing issues affecting the region and the nation as a whole.
Chadema is a centre-right political party in Tanzania. It is the second-largest political party in Tanzania and campaigns on regional autonomous of self-governing states in the country.
