Maclean Mwaijonga, the director of Dar24 Media Company, has been found safe in the Buyuni area of Kigamboni, Dar es Salaam, after being reported missing since October 31, 2024.
The news of his discovery was confirmed by the Dar es Salaam Special Police Zone on Saturday, November 2, 2024. The police, who had been searching for him alongside his family and coworkers, expressed relief over his safe return.
According to a statement from the regional police commander, Jumanne Muliro, Mwaijonga was found in the company of his relatives and police officers in Kigamboni.
Commander Muliro noted that Mwaijonga appeared disoriented when he was found.
“After being located, he was taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation, which confirmed he was in good health,” Muliro said.
Mwaijonga recounted to the police that he had been taken by individuals with whom he had been in long-term business discussions.
He stated that he was offered a drink that caused him to lose consciousness, only to later regain awareness in Buyuni, where he was found.

Commander Muliro added that authorities are continuing to investigate the incident to determine the full details and identify any suspects involved.
Mwaijonga was reported missing on October 31, 2024, after leaving his office at Rose Garden in Mikocheni, Dar es Salaam, in his Toyota Prado.
His disappearance had raised significant concern among his family, friends, and colleagues, highlighting issues of safety for business professionals in the city.
In response, the police have assured the public of a thorough investigation to uncover the truth behind this incident.
The police have also advised residents to remain vigilant and take measures to safeguard their safety amidst rising concerns.
