The Vice President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Philip Mpango, has called on members of the CEO Roundtable of Tanzania (CEOrt) to explore practical ways to transfer technology that will benefit the youth, who currently represent a large proportion of Tanzania’s population.
Dr. Mpango made these remarks while representing President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan at the CEO Roundtable of Tanzania’s (CEOrt) annual closing ceremony, held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Dar es Salaam.
He emphasized the importance of supporting youth in green technologies, backing research and development, and establishing technology incubation centers.
Dr. Mpango also encouraged the review of membership criteria for the CEO Roundtable of Tanzania (CEOrt) to include more youth from emerging businesses, such as those in entertainment, technology, and sports.

Additionally, he stressed the importance of CEOrt in prioritizing climate change agendas and urged its members to intensify efforts in partnerships and innovative solutions that link their organizations’ activities with national environmental conservation goals and the opportunities arising from sustainable practices.
Furthermore, Dr. Mpango highlighted the need for collaboration between the government and the private sector to steer Tanzania towards a green economy that supports sustainable development and aligns with the country’s national priorities.
The CEO Roundtable of Tanzania includes directors and executives from over 200 companies across various sectors, with members contributing to economic growth through tax contributions and leadership programs aimed at strengthening governance in the country.
