Members of the HIV/AIDS Control Committee from Momba District Council in Songwe region, led by the Deputy Chairman of the Council, Honorable Njanvwa Jackson Sihame, have conducted a study tour in Temeke Municipality.
They were warmly received by the Deputy Mayor of the Municipality, Honorable Arnold Peter, along with other committee members, Acting Director Advocate Faraja Nakua, and health department experts led by Chief Medical Officer Jonas Lulandala.
The purpose of the visit was to learn effective strategies and practices for controlling HIV/AIDS and educating the community about the dangers of the disease.

Speaking during the visit, Honorable Sihame stated, “We have come to learn how the Temeke Municipality HIV/AIDS Control Committee plans and successfully implements control measures and raises awareness about HIV/AIDS transmission.”
We have learned that the committee has made the work easier by fully cooperating with experts at all levels and the community itself.”
The committee members also visited the Temeke Regional Referral Hospital (TRRH), where they observed the services provided to HIV/AIDS patients and those struggling with drug addiction.
The tour allowed them to witness various educational and control strategies implemented by the hospital under the leadership of Dr. Joseph Kimaro.
