The International Criminal Court (ICC), Prosecutor Karim Khan who is under fire for allegations of sexual misconduct , is strongly in denial of the disgraceful act.

Karim Khan 54, who has been at the helm of the ICC since June 2021, is known for his dedication to pursuing accountability for war crimes and crimes against humanity. In response to the allegations, Khan described them as “disgraceful” and unfounded. He maintained that he has always acted professionally in his role and expressed his commitment to cooperating with the investigation. “I welcome the opportunity to engage in this process,” he stated, adding that he intends to continue fulfilling his duties as prosecutor while the inquiry is ongoing.
The ICC’s decision to pursue an external investigation marks a crucial step in addressing the seriousness of the allegations. Paivi Kaukoranta, president of the body overseeing the court, explained that this approach is necessary to ensure an independent and fair process. “Given the particular circumstances, we believe this is essential to uphold the integrity of the court,” she said.
The allegations against Khan reportedly involve unwanted sexual advances and inappropriate conduct towards staff members. Multiple complaints have surfaced, leading to concerns about a toxic work environment within the ICC.
