The major aircraft manufacturing company, Embraer, has announced its groundbreaking plan to develop the first passenger aircraft that operates autonomously using artificial intelligence (AI), eliminating the need for a pilot on all its flights.

The project was unveiled during the National Aviation and Business Association event in Orlando, Florida, USA. Unlike current aircraft, this innovative plane will not feature a cockpit. Instead, there will be a lounge-style area where passengers can relax and enjoy their flight experience, as shown in the promotional images.

The aircraft, named the “Plane of the Future,” will have advanced touchscreen windows, allowing passengers to access various services at their convenience throughout the flight.

Although this concept is still in its early stages, Embraer’s vision reflects the growing trend of autonomous technology, which is already being seen with self-driving cars operating on roads in the U.S., including in San Francisco where autonomous taxis are now in use.
