Wakala wa Barabara Tanzania (TANROADS) umeeleza kuwa uchunguzi wa awali unaonesha uharibifu wa barabara eneo la Busunzu kwenye barabara kuu ya Kigoma-Mwanza umetokana na mabadiliko ya kimazingira (Geo-Environmental).
Akitoa ufafanuzi wa suala hilo, Meneja wa TANROADS Mkoa wa Kigoma, Mhandisi Narcis Choma amesema eneo hilo liko kwenye mradi wa barabara ya Mvugwe hadi Nduta Jct yenye urefu wa kilometa 59.35 na taarifa za kuonesha nyufa walizipokea tangu Februari 24 mwaka huu.
“Sisi TANROADS tangu Februari 24 mwaka huu, tulipewa taarifa na Mhandisi Mshauri kwamba wameanza kuona nyufa za mipasuko katika sehemu ya barabara, tuliwashauri kuendelea kuangalia lakini baada ya siku mbili walituambia wanaona kuwa nyufa hizo zinaongezeka kila kukicha”, amesema Mhandisi Choma.
Mhandisi Choma amesema uchunguzi wa awali umebaini kuwa sehemu ile imepatwa na kitu kinachoitwa land slide (kushuka kipande kikubwa cha ardhi) ambayo imechangiwa na tatizo la geo-environment (tatizo la kimazingira) ambalo linahitaji uchunguzi wa kina na unaendelea kwa sasa.
“Tuliona ni vyema pia tutumie taasisi nyingine nje ya TANROADS na tuliialika taasisi inayofanya uchunguzi wa kiuhandisi kutoka Chuo Kikuu cha Dar es Salaam kwani tuliona kuifumua hiyo sehemu na kuijenga upya pasipokujua tatizo lake ni nini kuna hatari ya kutokea tena”, amefafanua Choma.
Mhandisi Choma ameeleza kuwa kutokana na barabara hiyo kuanza kutumika, TANROADS imemuelekeza Mhandisi Mshauri kufunga eneo hilo kwani lingeweza kuleta hatari kwa watumiaji wa barabara na sasa wanatumia barabara ya mchepuo.
Amesema kuwa baada ya kukamilika kwa uchunguzi wa kina, TANROADS itachukua hatua stahiki za kushughulikia tatizo hilo ambapo uchunguzi hautafanyika kwa eneo hilo tu bali katika eneo lote la barabara hiyo ili kuepukana na changamoto hiyo kutokea tena
