Roberto Firmino, the former Liverpool and Brazil national team striker, has embraced a new calling as a pastor at an evangelical church he founded with his wife, Larissa Pereira, in Maceio, Brazil.
In a social media announcement, Firmino and Pereira shared that since their conversion and baptism in 2020, they have been driven by a desire to share the love of Christ with others.
“Since our first encounter with Christ, a desire ignited in our hearts. We want people to feel this love that has reached us. Now, we have a new passion and responsibility to serve as pastors on behalf of God,” the couple stated.
Firmino’s transition from football to ministry marks a significant shift in his life, reflecting his deep commitment to his faith. The church, which they named “Comunidade de Cristo,” has already begun to attract a growing congregation, drawn by the couple’s genuine enthusiasm and message of love and redemption.
