The Ministry of Agriculture has announced that the 2024 National Farmers, Livestock Keepers, and Fishermen Exhibition (Nane Nane) will be held in Dodoma from August 1st to 8th.
This annual event aims to showcase the latest advancements and innovations in agriculture, livestock, and fisheries.
Speaking to journalists in Dodoma, the Minister of Agriculture, Hon. Hussein Bashe (MP), confirmed that this year’s exhibition will maintain its international status, with several neighboring countries having already confirmed their participation.
The Minister emphasized the importance of the event in promoting agricultural development and fostering regional cooperation.

Various companies involved in the purchase and sale of agricultural products will participate in seven designated zones.
These zones include the Southern Highlands Zone in Mbeya at John Mwakangale grounds, the Eastern Zone in Morogoro at Mwl. Julius Kambarage Nyerere grounds, the Southern Zone in Lindi at Ngongo grounds, the Lake Western Zone in Mwanza at Nyamhongolo grounds, the Lake Eastern Zone in Simiyu at Nyakabindi grounds, the Northern Zone in Arusha at Themi grounds, and the Western Zone in Tabora at Fatma Mwasa grounds.
Moreover, the government has commenced the construction of a state-of-the-art exhibition ground in Dodoma. The first phase of this project will cost 7.5 billion shillings.
This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to providing high-quality facilities for the Nane Nane exhibition, ensuring it meets international standards.
Minister Bashe also mentioned that the tender process for the construction of the John Mwakangale grounds in Mbeya has already been announced.
The construction work will include the development of internal roads, the erection of a perimeter wall, the creation of special exhibition areas, conference halls, water systems, and training farms that will be used throughout the year.
The opening ceremony on August 1, 2024, is expected to be graced by the Vice President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Hon. Dr. Philip Mpango. The climax of the event, scheduled for August 8, 2024, will be officiated by the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Hon. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan.
