Speaking to thousands of citizens attending the large Operation “Light the Lamp” conference organized by Apostle Boniface Mwamposa of the Inuka Uangaze Church, the Regional Commissioner of Arusha, Hon. Paul Christian Makonda, urged Tanzanians to reject individuals who exploit God’s Word and religious garments to deceive people and enrich themselves through the misuse of sacred scriptures.
“If you see anyone with a religious title or position, yet their fame is not derived from the works of Christ, nor from the works of God or His Word, know that they are a false religious leader. Let me give you an example for clarity: Apostle Mwamposa here has mentioned Jesus from the beginning to the end. You are all witnesses of the works of God’s Word through the mouth of His anointed servant for these times. The honor he carries is due to his service to God, and we are witnesses to the fruits of that work. The scriptures say you will know them by their fruits,” stated Hon. Makonda.
Hon. Makonda further informed Tanzanians that there has been a growing trend of individuals claiming to be servants of God, now amassing wealth and fame, but their popularity does not stem from acts of healing or the works of Christ, as prescribed by the tenets of Christianity worldwide.

To affirm his stance, Hon. Paul Christian Makonda invited and welcomed anyone who wished to engage in a discussion with him about Christianity, how the life of a Christian should be, and the various ways God has directed Christians to address societal challenges and how they are expected to live in harmony with their religious leaders.
