Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa has urged African public sector human resource managers to emphasize integrity and professionalism in managing human resources across the continent’s public sectors.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 9th annual Africa Public Sector Human Resource Managers’ Network (APS-HRMnet) conference, he highlighted that ethical governance is crucial for sustaining public trust and enhancing the quality of government services.
Majaliwa represented President Samia Suluhu Hassan at the conference, which is taking place in Arusha from November 4–7. Themed “Resilient Governance and Innovation: Fostering a Future-Oriented Public Sector through HR Leadership,” the event draws public sector HR leaders, academicians, and policy experts from across Africa. The goal is to tackle contemporary issues in public sector governance, sharing strategies for innovation and capacity-building to support ethical practices.

The Prime Minister emphasized that accountability and transparency are key principles of good governance, especially in HR management roles. By adhering to these standards, African governments can foster more effective and citizen-centric services.
