The Tanzania Police Force has provided an update on the progress of two high-profile investigations: the collapsed building in the Kariakoo business district and the attempted kidnapping of businessman Deogratius Tarimo.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) David Misime confirmed on November 23, 2024, that both investigations are advancing and that authorities are actively pursuing leads. The collapsed building, which caused fatalities and significant damage, remains under investigation as police work to identify the responsible parties and determine the causes behind the incident. There is particular focus on the possible role of structural negligence, with experts working to determine if safety regulations were ignored during construction.
