Speaking at the celebratory ceremony held in Kigoma, Jussa emphasized that Zitto Kabwe possesses the necessary capabilities and opportunities to lead the nation and that ACT Wazalendo is fully supportive of his aspirations. “We understand that you want Zitto to be your Member of Parliament here in the city in the upcoming elections. However, as a party, we want him to lead us as the President of Tanzania due to his abilities and position. We kindly request your blessings to make this a reality,” Jussa expressed.

Responding to the endorsement, Zitto Kabwe, the former leader of ACT Wazalendo, affirmed his readiness to assume the presidency. “I am prepared both intellectually and psychologically to be the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, and whenever you need me, I am ready. As for the parliamentary position, there are no issues; there are capable individuals like Nondo and other young people who are ready to bring about the desired changes in our country. As a retiree, I accept orders from you, my leaders,” stated Kabwe.
Kabwe further highlighted that the ten years since the party’s establishment have been sufficient for ACT Wazalendo to become a prominent and popular political force in the country. He emphasized that their strategy for the next decade is to ensure that the party captures power. Regarding the party’s plan to field him as a presidential candidate in the 2025 general elections, Kabwe expressed his initial intention to contest the parliamentary seat in Kigoma Mjini. However, he reiterated that the final decision rests with the party, and if they choose otherwise, he will not pose any objections.
The ACT Wazalendo party has gained significant traction and support over the years, positioning itself as a formidable contender in Tanzanian politics. With the potential candidacy of Zitto Kabwe for the presidency, the political landscape of the country may witness interesting dynamics in the upcoming electoral cycle.
