After leading his team to a second consecutive victory in friendly matches preparing for the new season in Egypt, Simba’s Head Coach, Fadlu Davids, has expressed satisfaction with the way his players are working hard on the field and creating numerous scoring opportunities, but he still has a problem to address.
Recently, Simba secured a 2-1 victory against Telecom Egypt FC, continuing their winning streak in friendly matches following their first win against El-Qanah with a score of 3-0.

Speaking after the match, Fadlu noted that if his strikers had been more accurate, they could have won the game with a score of 7-1 at the Mercure Stadium.
He said his players performed well, creating many opportunities, but what disappointed him was the strikers’ failure to convert many clear chances into goals. He stated that this is something he needs to work on before the Premier League and the CAF Confederation Cup begin.
“In this match, we should have scored six or seven goals because we created so many chances. What surprises me is that these chances were not used effectively, while our opponents had just one chance and scored. The good thing is that we are creating scoring opportunities,” said the South African coach, who began training the team this season after coming from Morocco’s Wydad Casablanca.
He added that the team has improved, with players showing competition for positions in the starting lineup.
“I am pleased with how the players are working hard and taking responsibility when given a chance. The two friendly matches we have played have given us insight into reaching our goals and what we want to achieve,” Fadlu said.
He also mentioned, “We will have another friendly match in Dar es Salaam during Simba Day… These friendly matches are very important. There is something we have developed during our camp that the fans will see.”
The coach stated that the team is expected to start its journey back home tomorrow evening for preparations for the Simba Day event.
“I think we are at the end of our ‘pre-season.’ We will begin returning on Tuesday evening. We have been focusing on various aspects such as techniques, tactics, speed, and physical fitness,” he said.
Trailing by one goal in the recent match, Simba turned things around by scoring two goals in the second half, with goals from Mashaka Valentino, who was signed this season from Geita Gold, and Ladack Chasambi.
After the game, Valentino, who scored the equalizer by heading in a cross from the new left-back from Burkina Faso, Valentine Nouma, said that the coach’s instructions helped him score.
“The game was tough. The coach wanted us to attack all the time, and when I entered the second half, he told me to stay in the right position in the box. He told me I might miss, but later I would score, and it happened,” Valentino said.
On the other hand, Chasambi, who scored after a superb pass from the new right-back Kelvin Kijili, signed this season from Singida Big Stars, said it was one of the best goals he has ever scored.
Simba was expected to play their final match last night at the New Suez Canal Stadium against Al-Adalah FC, which plays in the First Division of Saudi Arabia.
