President Samia Suluhu Hassan has reaffirmed her government’s commitment to enhancing transparency and accountability in the management of public resources to ensure good governance and responsible leadership.
Speaking at the State House in Dar es Salaam after receiving reports from the Controller and Auditor General (CAG) and the Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bureau (PCCB), President Samia emphasized that her administration will continue to uphold transparency and address the shortcomings identified in the reports.
In her address, the President noted that these reports play a crucial role in the country’s development by highlighting areas that require improvement. She stressed that necessary measures will be taken against individuals found responsible for mismanagement of public funds while urging government institutions to be vigilant in financial management.
“The government will not tolerate those who violate accountability and ethical standards. We will continue to enforce strict discipline in the management of public resources in accordance with laws and regulations,” President Samia stated.
The CAG report highlighted improvements in public financial management, with an increase in clean audit opinions for government institutions. However, some sectors still face challenges, which the President pledged to address promptly to prevent financial mismanagement and corruption.

Additionally, President Samia commended the PCCB for its efforts in fighting corruption, acknowledging its significant contribution in ensuring that those involved in financial misconduct are held accountable.
On a different note, the President extended her Easter greetings to Tanzanians, urging them to celebrate in peace, unity, and solidarity.
This move further demonstrates her administration’s commitment to safeguarding public resources, prioritizing transparency and accountability to build a nation rooted in integrity and sustainable development.
