School Encourages Science for Independent Society Building

Baobab Secondary School located in Bagamoyo  district in the Coastal Region, has declared its intention to encourage a higher number of students to enroll in science classes with the aim of fostering a more self-reliant society.

The headmaster of the school, Mr. Venance Hongoa, informed a representative from Tanzania’s China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) that the school is actively empowering women and girls by offering them a positive career trajectory to pursue professions beyond being housewives.

“Our school offers a diverse range of subjects to students at every level. The majority of our students here engage in a mix of science, physics, economics, and Chinese courses,” he stated.

The Tanzania branch of CCCC  led by the CEO ,Chen Jian,visited the school to motivate young students studying science subjects. They were guided by the slogan “Thousands of engineers entering classrooms, the dream of a robust nation constructed by Enterprises and Schools.”

The headmaster expressed appreciation to the Chinese company, referring to the gesture as “a valuable opportunity” for their students to engage directly with industry leaders and grasp cutting-edge technology.

“This will inspire students positively to explore the unknown with an innovative spirit, laying a strong foundation for their development,” he stated.

Mr. Hongoa is confident that the activity will significantly expand the students’ perspectives and allow them to experience the professional expertise and allure of engineers.

“It’s like planting the seeds of science in their hearts and igniting the sparks of dreams,” he added.

Bagamoyo District Secondary Education Officer, Juma Yusuph praised the initiative, stating that it will engage and enhance their learning abilities.

Meng Zhao and Song Yu from the CCCC Tanzania Branch shared their personal experiences, showcasing various techniques such as utilizing measuring instruments to address challenges in complex  terrains and guarantee the advancement of construction projects.

Since its establishment in Tanzania, the China Construction Company CCCC has prioritized its corporate social responsibility towards schools. The company has been supporting numerous schools, particularly those in Dar Es Salaam, by providing academic materials, toiletries, and travel opportunities to deserving students through various forms of academic competitions.
