The Member of Parliament (MP) representing Kahama Mjini constituency in the Shinyanga region, Jumanne Kishimba, has put forth a significant suggestion during a recent parliamentary session in Dodoma.
He has urged the government to introduce a comprehensive financial literacy program starting from the first grade, emphasizing the importance of teaching children how to earn and manage money from an early age.
In addition to advocating for financial literacy, Kishimba has also highlighted the necessity for an entrepreneurship curriculum. He believes that students should be equipped with a deep understanding of business and commerce, enabling them to develop the necessary skills to effectively manage their ventures in the future. By incorporating entrepreneurship education into the curriculum, young learners would be empowered to establish and sustain their industries, contributing to economic growth and self-reliance.

Kishimba’s recommendations were made during his contribution to the budget discussions of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology for the upcoming fiscal year of 2024/2025.
