The Morogoro Regional Commissioner, Hon. Adam Kighoma Malima, has called on the people of Morogoro to come out in large numbers to undergo health screenings and receive free consultations from doctors from various institutions providing this service. The screenings are being offered at no cost by the Tanzania People’s Defence Force (TPDF).
This call was made on August 27, 2024, by the Regional Commissioner while officially opening the 60th Anniversary Celebrations of the Tanzania People’s Defence Force (TPDF), which at the regional level are being held at Morogoro Secondary School grounds, where health services are being provided to the public.
Hon. Malima mentioned that in celebrating this milestone, the military is offering various health services, including eye examinations, cervical and breast cancer screenings for women, prostate exams for men, and other medical services. He urged the public to take advantage of this opportunity to get their health checked and encouraged those who receive the services to become ambassadors for others to also come forward and get screened.

“I would like to take this opportunity to urge all of us here to use this chance to get our health checked, and after leaving here, let’s become ambassadors for others”
The leader also expressed his gratitude to the military for providing free health screenings to the residents of Morogoro, urging that this should not be the last time such services are offered, but that they should continue in collaboration with various institutions in the region.
Furthermore, Hon. Adam Malima thanked Hon. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, the President of the United Republic of Tanzania and Commander-in-Chief, for providing free medical services to the residents of Morogoro and for leading the military, which has continued to grow stronger, gaining national and international recognition.
In addition, Hon. Malima urged citizens, particularly women, to develop the habit of getting regular health check-ups, especially for cervical and breast cancer, to facilitate early treatment and help combat these diseases in the community. He also encouraged men to regularly screen for prostate cancer to seek treatment promptly if diagnosed.
