Tanzania’s President Greets Putin On Victory Day

President Samia Suluhu Hassan, the Head of State of the United Republic of Tanzania, has extended her congratulations to Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, in honor of the country’s Victory Day commemorations.

The message, shared via her official X (formerly Twitter) account, emphasized the significance of May 9 as a tribute to the heroism and unity of the Russian people, who made extraordinary sacrifices during the fight against Nazi Germany in World War II.

“May 9 marks a historic moment of unity and sacrifice. The courage shown by the Russian people continues to inspire nations around the world to uphold peace, justice, and multilateral cooperation,” she wrote.

The celebrations in Moscow included the grand Victory Day Parade, held at the historic Red Square, with thousands of soldiers and military equipment on display. The event honored the legacy of the Soviet Union‘s victory in Europe and the memory of millions who lost their lives.

President Samia also reiterated the longstanding relationship between Tanzania and Russia, underlining the importance of mutual respect, friendship, and shared development goals.
