Four young children narrowly escaped death after a man set fire to their home in an act of jealousy. The man, identified only as Lino, is said to have started the fire in a fit of rage, driven by a personal dispute with his partner.
Lino, 31, from Kifanya, reportedly grew upset over a relationship issue and decided to burn down the home of his lover. The children, who were inside at the time, managed to escape without injuries, though the ordeal left them deeply shaken.
The fire broke out in the Idundilanga neighborhood, and thick smoke filled the air, drawing the attention of concerned residents. Emergency responders quickly arrived on the scene, preventing the fire from spreading to nearby houses. While the house was completely destroyed, the quick actions of the community helped limit the damage.
Lino was arrested and has admitted to setting the fire, citing jealousy as his motive. Police are continuing to investigate the incident, and charges of arson and endangerment are expected to be filed.
