Tanzania is preparing for a mix of rain showers and partly cloudy skies across various regions in the next 24 hours, according to the latest update issued by the national meteorological authority on December 12, 2025.

Residents in northern and central regions, including Singida and Dodoma, should expect partly cloudy conditions with occasional rain in scattered areas, complemented by periods of sunshine. Coastal areas such as Dar es Salaam, Morogoro, Pwani, and the Mafia Isles will experience similar partly cloudy skies with sunny intervals, providing generally pleasant conditions for residents and visitors alike.

The northeastern highlands, covering Manyara, Arusha, and Kilimanjaro, are forecast to receive light rain showers over limited areas, interspersed with sunny breaks. Meanwhile, the western and southern zones—including Katavi, Tabora, Kigoma, Ruvuma, Rukwa, Iringa, Njombe, and Mbeya—will experience a combination of partly cloudy skies, isolated thundershowers, and sunny spells throughout the day. Lake zone regions, such as Kagera, Geita, Simiyu, Mwanza, Shinyanga, and Mara, are also expected to witness similar weather patterns. The archipelagos of Unguja and Pemba will enjoy mainly sunny intervals beneath partly cloudy skies.

Temperature readings vary significantly across the country. Coastal Dar es Salaam is expected to reach a high of 33°C and a low of 25°C, while Dodoma will see daytime temperatures of 30°C and cooler nights at 19°C. Arusha and Mwanza are forecast around 29°C during the day, with moderate night temperatures. Other regions, including Tanga, Zanzibar, Mbeya, and Iringa, will experience daytime highs between 27°C and 32°C and cooler evening temperatures.
