Kilosa District Commissioner Shaka Hamdu Shaka has praised President Samia Suluhu Hassan for continuing the implementation of Tanzania’s strategic national development projects, saying her leadership has proved wrong critics who doubted her ability to sustain major government initiatives.

Shaka made the remarks at the launch grounds of the Mtumba Government City in Dodoma, where he said President Samia had demonstrated political maturity, patriotism and commitment to national development despite facing significant economic and global challenges after assuming office.

He noted that the country experienced the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, drought and international economic disruptions during the period, but none of the major strategic projects was abandoned or suspended.

According to Shaka, the continued implementation of these projects demonstrates the government’s determination to maintain development priorities and deliver long-term benefits to Tanzanians.

“Since President Samia assumed office, despite major challenges, no strategic national project has stalled or been suspended. The projects have continued, and their results are visible to Tanzanians,” he said.

Shaka said the President’s development agenda was guided by national priorities, including the National Development Vision, economic growth plans and the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) manifesto. He added that these priorities were essential to building a united, peaceful and economically stable nation.

He further described President Samia as a hardworking and experienced leader who had demonstrated that national development requires practical leadership, political tolerance and a clear commitment to delivering public projects.

“President Samia does not need unhealthy politics, weak politics or a lack of tolerance. She needs constructive politics accompanied by a strong desire to implement strategic development projects,” Shaka said.

He pointed to the inauguration of Mtumba Government City as evidence of the administration’s commitment, describing the project as more than the construction of government buildings.

“This is not simply the construction of buildings; it is the construction of our national dignity and identity,” he said.

The Mtumba Government City represents an important step in Tanzania’s efforts to strengthen public administration by bringing government institutions together in a purpose-built administrative centre. Such developments are intended to improve coordination among public institutions, facilitate access to government services and provide a more organised working environment for public servants.

Shaka said Tanzanians had every reason to support President Samia, arguing that her leadership had continued the country’s development ambitions while advancing the vision of the founding President, Mwalimu Julius Nyerere, and fulfilling development aspirations associated with the late President John Pombe Magufuli.

He urged citizens to recognise the importance of continuity in national development, noting that major infrastructure and strategic projects require sustained commitment, planning and investment to deliver their intended benefits.

His remarks came during the launch of Mtumba Government City, an occasion highlighting the government’s efforts to strengthen public institutions and advance Tanzania’s long-term development agenda.
