ACT-Wazalendo Unveils Visionary Manifesto for Tanzania

Beyond job creation, the party pledges universal access to essential services, renewed constitutional reforms, and greater citizen participation in governance.
August 11, 2025

ACT-Wazalendo, one of Tanzania’s leading opposition parties, has unveiled an ambitious manifesto that promises significant reforms across economic, social, and political sectors.

This comprehensive plan positions the party as a strong contender ahead of the 2025 Tanzanian general elections.

The manifesto, which outlines the party’s goals for 2025 to 2030, is built around seven key pillars aimed at transforming Tanzania into a more just, equitable, and self-reliant nation. Party leaders describe it as a “people’s manifesto,” reflecting months of consultations with citizens from both urban centers and rural communities.

A central promise in the plan is the creation of 12 million formal jobs within five years. ACT-Wazalendo aims to boost high-potential sectors such as manufacturing, agriculture, fisheries, livestock, technology, creative industries, and social services.

Beyond job creation, the party pledges universal access to essential services, renewed constitutional reforms, and greater citizen participation in governance. Their economic approach calls for increased government investment in productive sectors to reduce what they describe as “elite dominance” over the country’s resources.

This manifesto reflects ACT-Wazalendo’s commitment to economic justice, inclusive development, and accountable leadership—key themes that resonate with many Tanzanians seeking change.
