Several Members of Parliament traveling to the East African Community (EAC) Inter-Parliamentary Games were injured in a road accident in Kongwa District, Dodoma Region.

The collision occurred early Friday morning, December 6, 2024, when their bus collided with a cargo truck near the Mbande area.

According to a statement released by the Parliament of Tanzania, the injured were quickly taken to Uhuru Hospital and Benjamin Mkapa Hospital for medical care. The Parliament assured the public that the necessary support is being provided to the affected individuals.

“One of the buses transporting our honorable Members of Parliament to the East African Community Inter-Parliamentary Games was involved in an accident with a cargo truck in Mbande, Kongwa. The injured have been transferred to hospitals in Dodoma for treatment.”
