Tanzanian MP Calls For Unity Amid Global Uncertainty

Her remarks come as governments around the world continue to respond to economic pressures stemming from geopolitical tensions, supply chain disruptions and shifting global trade patterns.
June 30, 2026

Tanzanian lawmaker Esther Bulaya has called on citizens to reject actions that could undermine the country’s peace and stability, saying national unity remains essential as Tanzania navigates growing global economic uncertainty.

Speaking on June 29, 2026, during a meeting with members and leaders of the Chama Cha Mapinduzi in Bunda, Bulaya urged Tanzanians not to be drawn into acts of provocation that could threaten the country’s long-standing tradition of peace.

She said preserving stability is a shared national responsibility and stressed that peace has been one of Tanzania’s greatest strengths since independence.

Bulaya also called on young people to work closely with the government in supporting economic development, noting that Tanzania is pursuing growth driven by domestic revenue and investment at a time when the global economy faces mounting challenges.

She said the country must remain focused on strengthening its economy and creating opportunities for future generations rather than allowing divisions to distract from national development priorities.

Her remarks come as governments around the world continue to respond to economic pressures stemming from geopolitical tensions, supply chain disruptions and shifting global trade patterns.

Her comments reinforce ongoing calls from national leaders for unity and stability as Tanzania continues implementing its development agenda amid an increasingly uncertain international economic environment.
