Simba Sports Club has failed to appear for the Pre-Match Press Conference organized this morning by the Tanzania Premier League Board (TPLB), ahead of a highly anticipated league match scheduled for tomorrow at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.
According to TPLB Media Officer Karimu Boimanda, the press conference, set for 5:30 a.m., was a mandatory part of match preparations and media engagement. Despite several attempts to reach Simba’s management, the club did not respond or provide official communication regarding their absence.
“We made every effort to contact Simba SC through formal channels and follow-ups, but unfortunately, they did not show up and gave no explanation,” said Boimanda.
The pre-match conference is a key fixture in the Tanzania Premier League calendar, allowing clubs to brief the media, share last-minute updates, and build anticipation among fans. It also gives both teams a platform to express expectations and promote fair play ahead of critical encounters.
Simba’s failure to attend has sparked speculation among fans and commentators, especially as the team prepares for a crucial fixture that could influence standings in the Tanzania Premier League.
While no penalties have been publicly confirmed, the TPLB is expected to review the incident and determine whether disciplinary action is warranted, as non-compliance with league protocols can result in fines or other sanctions.
The upcoming match, set for tomorrow, has already generated significant public interest, with thousands of supporters expected to fill the stands at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, one of Tanzania’s premier sporting venues.
