Tanzania’s President Samia Suluhu Hassan has emphasized the need to strengthen the country’s justice system to fully benefit from the implementation of the National Development Vision 2050.
Speaking in Dodoma during the commemoration of Law Day, she highlighted how essential an effective judicial system is for the nation to achieve its long-term development goals.
In her address, President Samia remarked, “A fair and efficient justice system is key to the development of our nation. For us to achieve the objectives outlined in the National Development Vision 2050, it’s crucial that every Tanzanian has access to justice without discrimination.”
She further stressed that the government will continue to improve the justice system to ensure citizens receive high-quality and equitable services in all areas of life. “We will work to strengthen the systems that deliver justice so that our people feel secure and their rights are upheld,” she stated.
The event was attended by several key government and judiciary leaders, including Chief Justice of Tanzania, Prof. Ibrahim Hamis Juma, and the Attorney General of the United Republic of Tanzania, Mhe. Eliezer Mbuki Feleshi.
President Samia took the opportunity to commend the Tanzania judiciary for its efforts in improving the delivery of justice services. “The judiciary has made significant strides in enhancing access to justice, and we must continue to support these efforts,” she said.

Additionally, the President announced the launch of a unique competition between the three branches of government—Judiciary, Parliament, and Public Service—aimed at promoting collaboration and unity in government operations.
Law Day marks the start of the judicial year in Tanzania, offering citizens the chance to learn more about their legal rights and the services provided by the judiciary.
President Samia concluded her speech by reiterating the importance of continued collaboration between the government, judiciary, and the people in ensuring that justice is delivered fairly and impartially. She remains confident that by reinforcing the justice system, Tanzania will reach its development goals and create a society where everyone enjoys equal rights under the law.
